The Institutional Advancement Department is recruiting to fill an opening for a Graphic Designer in the Office of Communications & Marketing. The Graphic Designer will provide design and visual solutions and support within Linfield brand-compliance standards. The right candidate for this position must be a multi-disciplinary designer with knowledge of best-visual design practices for an array of media from printed marketing materials to signage, promotional materials, billboards, presentations, digital signage, magazine design, web and social media graphics.  A review of applications will begin immediately and will be accepted through Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Printed design. Print is still a big part of what we do. This right candidate for this position should have an expertise in design as well as the ability to follow a project through completion of the print process, including work with outside vendors. This includes press checks and the ability to make on-the-fly decisions when projects don't go as planned.
  • Digital design.
  • A mastery of Adobe's Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, LightRoom, Bridge and Acrobat. Comfort with Microsoft Word a plus.
  • Art-directing photo shoots to achieve the desired results in terms of design assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent time-management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable of marketing and branding concepts. Ability to consistently design with an overall brand architecture in mind.
  • Able to perform detailed work with a perfectionist's eye.
  • Experience in customer/client presentation and communication.
  • Ability to remain up-to-date with trends in visual and interactive design


A minimum of five years experience in graphic and/or web design. Undergraduate degree in graphic design or visual communications. Study or experience in informatics, marketing, journalism or communications or related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office environment and is sedentary.  Constant sitting, hearing, seeing (viewing computer monitor) and listening.  Frequently lift, push, or carry up to 30 pounds.  Frequently walk and stand.  Occasionally bend, stoop, and twist.  Occasional exposure to weather conditions when going from building to building.
