Linfield's School of Nursing is recruiting for a Coordinator for Clinical Education.  The Coordinator for Clinical Education provides oversight for clinical education in the pre-licensure program.  The Coordinator works in association with the Integrated Experiential Learning (IEL) Coordinators, Semester Coordinators, the Clinical Facilities Assistant (CFA) and the Director of the Experiential Learning Center (ELC) to develop clinical sites and hire adjunct faculty for clinical instruction.  Review of applications will begin immediately.  Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

Work Schedule:

This position is typically scheduled Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm; flexibility is required to accommodate evening and weekend activities connected with the School of Nursing. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assures adequate adjunct staffing in all IEL sections.
  • Screens, interviews and hires adjunct faculty.
  • Represents the Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing (LGSSON) at regional community clinical placement committees at selected meetings.
  • Develops and maintains files on all current, past and potential adjunct faculty.
  • Assures adjunct faculty are in compliance with all health and professional requirements established by LGSSON and clinical agencies.
  • Creates and delivers the adjunct faculty orientation to current laws and regulations regarding nursing education, Linfield College, LGSSON, and the undergraduate nursing curriculum.
  • Assures ongoing communication with adjunct faculty regarding LGSSON business, including development and maintenance of internet based communications on Blackboard.
  • In collaboration with the Faculty Development Committee plans and implements ongoing adjunct development programming, including adjunct development day.
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Nursing assures that IEL Coordinators complete annual evaluations of each adjunct faculty member.
  • Facilitates site development for optimal IEL learning.
  • Facilitates Semester and IEL Coordinator meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing required, Master's degree in nursing preferred; course work in nursing education preferred.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in Oregon
  • Three years of teaching experience in nursing education; teaching in baccalaureate positions preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in clinical education, baccalaureate level preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills that demonstrate ability to both function independently and work closely with director, manager, nurses and staff in a team approach.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to accomplish the objectives of the School of Nursing.
  • Knowledge in data management and standard desktop applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
